  • PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy involves the treatment of conditions to relieve mental distress or disability in a person such as depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep issues, pain disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder. Treatment is performed by a licensed clinical psychologist and referrals may be made to other mental health professional, i.e., a psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist, a clinical social worker, or another licensed clinical professional counselor. When medications are involved, consultation and coordination are useful and sometimes necessary between the client's primary care physician or psychiatrist and the Institute. Conversations are privileged and confidential, with only a few exceptions. Insurance may cover part or all of the fees for treating a diagnosible mental disorder, if medically necessary.

  • EXECUTIVE COACHING

Executive coaching involves the thought partnering of a coach and client to help the client reach his or her goals. Sessions usually focus on defining the goals of the client, assessing the current progress toward those goals, identifying opportunities and obstacles that compete with goal achievement, and to creating an agenda and a way forward to meet the client goals. The focus is client driven and fueled by powerful questions from the coach. Since coaching usually focuses on personal and professional growth, rather than mental illness, it is not generally reimbursable by insurance plans. Dr Drehmer is a credentialed member of the International Coach Federation. He holds the designation of Associate Certified Coach. In addition, Dr. Drehmer is a founding fellow of the Institute of Coaching Professional Association, an affiliate of McLean Hospital and the Harvard Medical School.
